  well, I had scans on Sept 27 and they inadvertently scanned my brain and found 3 brain mets. so I've been doing 15 treatments of whole brain radiation. Only 2 more to go. The worse part is the dexamethasone. It's causing me to have extreme muscle weakness in my legs and raising havoc with my blood sugars. that gives me problems seeing. after this whole brain radiation I will have a 2 week break and then will be going...

  I went in for scans on Aug. 22 and found out that the sutent had failed. I have new tumors in my lungs as well as growth in the tumors I already had. Plus a new one in my neck. So they wouldn't do the nephrectomy. Now I just finished my first round of chemo. Gemcitabine and Doxorubicine combo.   I have clear cell sarcomatiod. 12 cm tumor on left kidney with mets to both lungs (about 10 tumors in lungs). Having a nephrectomy at the end of this month. this thread was very encouraging to me.   thank you for the encouragement. It gives me hope. I've been on sutent since april. Last scan showed shrinkage in lung mets and tumor. I'm suppose to get the kidney out in aug. I'm on my third cycle of 50 mg sutent. Hope it keeps going well for you thanks

  I found a produt made by Bandaid called Friction Block it looks like a tiny deodrant. I rub it on my feet and it has helped me alot. Keeps me from getting blisters. Find it at Target near the bandaids.

  aldiyana, Sorry about the confusion (mets to both lungs) means that I have kidney cancer (tumor on my kidney) and I also have tumors in my lungs. The tumors in my lungs are not lung cancer. It's kidney cancer that has spread to my lungs, so the tumors in my lungs are metastatic kidney cancer. Stage IV.   I'm wondering if there is anyone here that has sarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma. I was diagnosed in March 2012. Have a 12 cm tumor on my left kidney and mets to both lungs. I am on Sutent 4/2 just finished my second cycle. the doctors at Mayo decided to do the Sutent before taking out my kidney. I will do one more cycle of the Sutent before they remove my kidney.
