  I go to Mayo in Rochester for my brain tumor and I have been happy with my doctors.  My problem is that there are some office staff in the neuro department that couldn't care less.   I also have to disagree with your statement about "if you have money you can get anything, and you can be cured of this dreaded 'c word'.  Otherwise, you're a nothing to them, and they would prefer you just 'go away'". &n...

  I did end up going to an estate lawyer as well.  at the time it was the one thing that I could control and I needed that.  I signed the papers on the will, living will, health care initiative and my dnr on 12/31/12, what a way to start a new year.  I just want to make sure that certain people get certain things and I know my parents will make sure that happens but some of the things are going to go to ...

  When I was diagnosed with a brain tumor 6 months ago my NO and both Neurosurgeons I talked to said that my "episodes" as we call them were partial seizures which consisted of numbness and tingling on just the right side of my body.  I was given a low dose of Keppra twice a day.  The last few months I have noticed more "episodes" of numbness or just tingling that lasts for about 30 seconds to a few minutes, ...

  That is so funny because after a month of my diagnosis I said the same thing! (after I lost 15 pounds from stress and anxiety)  "you want to lose weight?  Just get a diagnosis of a brain tumor!!!  you won't be able to eat for months"    Humor you have to use it some how... and it is best to get rid of the anxiety that way!

  I hate the run around!  The reason i had the CT scan immediately was because strokes run in our family, my sister had one at age 27.  All the tests I had BEFORE the MRI were tests for signs of TIAs.  The MRI was the deciding factor.  I was also under the impression that when you were given bad news like that they called and set up an appointment and told you face to face.  I got my news by a ...

  Mine was when the right half of my body went numb, nothing showed on CT scan so GP told me to go to the ER next time it happens.  ER doc said anxiety attack and given xanax. I convinced my GP to send me to a neurologist, who thought it was a TIA or a Migraine Variant.  After after 3 months of what turned out to be partial seizures the neurologist diagnosed me with a brain tumor after an MRI
