      Our son, John is also a survivor of stage 3 EC.  He's two years out from his surgery now and done with all his chemo and radiation treatments.  He taught snowboarding classes all winter and just returned from a white-water rafting trip.  He's regained most of his strength, although not all the weight he lost during his ordeal.  We are so thankful to have him back!  Best wishes to you and your...

          So happy to hear you are "doing fine"!  John says he still has some digestive problems (he's 2 yrs out from his esophagectomy now).  He says it feels at times like there's a lead weight in his gut, but he can eat most everything.  He eats very healthy; little refined sugar, lots of fruit and vegs, green tea. He never has liquids at mealtime; for some reason when he does, it causes discomfort.  Any...

            I am the mom of a 43yr old son who had esophageal cancer at the GE Juction. He underwent chemo with radiation therapy and had surgery at Mayo in Rochester, MN. He has now finished chemo and is back to feeling "normal" again. His follow-up PET scan showed no evidence of cancer!
