My Mom was diagnosed with this last summer. Her first surgery was to remove a 'polyp', but after pathology, it showed melanoma. The doctor chose not to do radiation, but just have her in every 3 months for PET scan and/or CAT scan. All scans have been clean, but last month her right side started bleeding.
