  hi oldgal two years is a very long time to be under the sort of pressure you're experiencing - not to mention the heart wrenching upset and pain  i think your feelings are completely normal and we'll all have burnout/meltdown from time to time ... it's not easy my life changed 6 months ago when my sister was diagnosed - nothing has been the same since ... there are times when i feel on the edge of sanity try...

  thanks so much for your replies guys - i have a better understanding now apparently some necrosis was noted on my sister's first mri following completion of the 6 week radio/chemo treatment on her inoperable tumour not sure how it'll be dealt with - don't want to probe sis at the moment as she's feeling low  take care everyone and look after yourselves carla

  hi everyone can someone please explain (in simple terms!) necrosis? does it occur as a result of radiation? / does everyone get it to one degree or another? / is it a serious complication and is there any treatment for it? sorry if this has been discussed before - is there another thread somewhere? thanks very much and best wishes to all carla (sister has gbm4)

  wow ... it's great to hear that your sister did so well - can i ask other than the radiotherapy that you mention which other treatment did she have? ie surgery/chemo/avastin is she having problems from the radio - you say it has come back to haunt her ........... i hope the future is kind to you all best wishes carla (sister has gbm4)

  hi there i did read a newspaper article in the uk a couple of months ago that talked about this type of drug - i think they called it disulfiram ... i think it's only being considered for trials but i'll try and find the article and give a link best wishes carla

  hi .... i'm also in the uk am so sorry you find yourself dealing with this but i think you'll find this forum very good and helpful and supportive there is a good forum in uk called bt buddies ... have you looked at that? some of the info may be upsetting initially but there's a lot that's useful best wishes and good luck carla

  hi everyone it's a comfort to have this site to turn to ... my dear sister (age 60) has been diagnosed with gbm - the whole family are in shock she's to start radio/chemo in a week or so - i know the future is gonna be tough - i'm expecting to be posting a lot with questions etc as the weeks/months go i know we're all at different stages but united in our feelings wishing everyone strength x
