When it's done at memorial Sloan Kettering May have a difference of a few points from other lab but still low. Last week had ct scan after 13 months which was clean. I'm worried because ca19-9 was 7 at my lab and Sloan got 33 within 2 ...

I am sorry that your family is effected by this disease. Reading this brings back memories of my situation. I was 50 years old like your mom and my daughter was your age. I was diagnosed 3 months before my daughter's wedding and this took us all by surprise. I had to write to you because if my daughter was writing this post she would be saying the same thing since her and I are so close. Just had my 3 year celebrati...

I had my whipple at Sloan in 2011. I was so happy with my surgeon, but found the nursing care horrible. They took 29 nodes and I had clean margins. Had follow up chemo for 6 months in basking ridge and was not happy there with the oncologists. I am presently doing all follow up in NYC and am very happy with my new doctor

Glad to hear that your margins were good and that all nodes were negative. My surgery was done 3 years ago and I had stage 2 adenocarcinoma. Margins were clean and 29 nodes were negative, moderately differentiated, but with peri neural invasion- 3.5 cm tumor. Surgery was done at Sloan in NYC. Surgeon post surgery gave me the option of starting adjuvant therapy with gemzar and strongly recommended it. I completed ...

It's been 3 years since my whipple surgery for pancreatic adenocarcinoma of the head of the pancreas stage 2. Had 6 months of Gemzar following. Currently, cancer free. Last ct scan done last July. Had visit with oncologist end of February-all blood work good. Was moved to having next scan this August. I have digestive issues since surgery like most pancreatic patients and learned what foods to stay away from. I do ...

Hi Tracy, Like you, I was 50 years old when I was diagnosed with pc on the head of the pancreas. This April 27 will be the third year anniversary of my surgery. The whipple is a very difficult surgery but each day you will feel better and better. I am a nurse and was super anxious because before the surgery I kind of knew what I was in for but did not realize I would need so much strength and determination to recov...
