To all those who have to have the Leap, and have not had it yet. Don't freak out. I just had it done today 1/21/11 and I felt no pain. I'm feeling some cramping now but its not that bad. My heart rate did not go up with the medicaton they injected for numbing the cervix, even though the nurse said it might. The procedure literally took 6 minutes from when he started. There is no need to be put to sleep or sedated for this, just take advil if your doc recommends, and if you have anxiety , a little ativan wont hurt. Stay calm. The worst part is the anticipation. Just close your eyes and take deep breaths and it will be over in a jiffy. Remember that we are fortunate that we have this procedure available to save us from possible cancer. Many with Cancer would give anything for the opportunity to have this procedure. Be Strong! You can do it!
