    I feel so helpless, niave, stupid when knowing what to expect at the end of life.  My mum has bone and lung.  She's done 6 mths of gruelling chemo, now it's radiotherapy and if that fails, then back to chemo.  She's in her 9th year, 5yrs of which are secondary bone and lung, the first three we breast.       My Mum has lung cancer (she's had cancer for 9 years).  She had 6 months of gruelling chemo which hasn't helped as much as we'd hoped it would.  Now they have given her a blast of radio therapy, just six weeks later.  Then if that fails they go back to the chemo. Why?  why do they keep pumping her with drugs when clearly she's coming to the end?  Also what is the end like?  I'm scared o...

        My Mum was diagnosed with lung and bone cancer in 2007, having had breast cancer in 2003.  When it came back in 2007 we all felt devastated as a family, but most of all, I was devastated because, like yourself, I wanted her to see my son graduate.  She saw him graduate in 2010!!  And she is still with us now, albeit we are coming to the end sometime in the near future I fear.   My Mum's advise to...
