  I was on cisplatin for two treatments - when I came in for the third (concurrent with radiation) my blood work was through the floor and they suspended the chemo altogether (also put me in the hospital for 10 days so I could recover - platelets, nromally around 165,000, were under 30,000, and so on down the line).   I'm currently undergoing treatment for a squamous cel tumor above the tonsil, just finished week 3 of 7 radiation daily and 3 of 6 chemo once a week (cisplatin).   Background: I was diagnosed with plasmacytoma about 4 years ago which necessitated a hip replacement and radiotherapy (if memory serves, about 12 sessions over 6 weeks).
