  Well,. looks like I will be going in for my 3rd stent on Friday--I had cobalt radiation in 1976...lots of problems, but I am still very athletic and love life!  Actually, I am relieved to know that I have blockage becasue it explains what I have been feeling exerciseing these last 6 months!  Onward!   Funny you say that....my pulmonary dr thought it was heart related as well.  I had an echo done last summer and he said no aortic stenosis but I wonder if it could have been missed.  And just how can you "medially treat" aortic stenosis?  Hmmm...oh well.  I am up for my nuclear stress test and an echo again in early July...I have a new cariologist since my last one retired, and I imagine that when...

  Last year I did a PFT--volume is almost 100%  (thanks to all that aerobic work I have done!)  but the oxygen uptake is poor...Question, do you have to use any inhaler?  He said I might have exercise induced asthma and gave me an inhaler, but I really am not sure if it helps.  I am going back in July.  Luckily, the Texas Children's Hosp here in Houston has a Long Term Survivor of Childhood Ca...

  Thanks for the correction!!!  Yes, it was not the arm artery that he heard--it was some mitral valve regurge.  But when the cardiologist explored, he found the blockage....It stinks b/c it followed the next year with a blockage right at the carotid junction going up to my neck.  Since then, no further stents, but I find breathlessness a problem....I go for my yearly check up in a few weeks---I am still...

  Just a fluke--I was getting my thyroid checked (it had to be removed a few years later) and the doc heart a rumor...he recommended me to a cardiologist and it went from there...my brachi-radialos ws 80% blocked and I had NO clue!

  Hi I am a 35 year survivor of Hodgkins, stage IA.  I only had radiation.  As others, I have had all the ususal side effects, side effects that NO dr warned me of....I had to have my thyroid removed (pre-cancer cells), lung damage, 2 stents, skin cancer.  I have always been an athlete and even after cancer I competed for the US in cycling in 1983.  However, I struggle now with shortness of breath ...
