Hello,It has been over 2 months since I had my reversal and over 7 months since my LAR (removing a portion of the rectum) surgery was done but I still continue to have thin pencil like or even flat ribbon like stools. My CEA and physical exams have been coming out normal. I am really worried and was wondering if someone could offer their opinions on this. Jack

thank you very much, they did the chemo/rad for me followed by surgeries but they did not do another round of chemo for me. I guess everybody is different. I am glad that you have been cancer free for almost 3 years.

thank you, I am curious in your regular visits how does he check the liver. Once again appreciate the replies.

Jan, Thanks for the reply.   When you meet your surgeon, does he do any exam or just question & answer kind of a meeting to see if you have symptons? Have you had any CT scans? Appreciate your help. Jack

I just recently had a temporary ileostomy reversal and have 10-20 bowel movements in a day and was wondering how did people control the same.I am taking metamucil twice a day and imodium as needed but does not seem to help much.  My surgery was done 3 weeks back and was diagnosed with stage 2 rectal cancer and had chemo/radiation before surgery. Would appreciate your help

would like to know how often would one be doing the CEA blood test, physical exam, colonoscopy and CT scan to catch a recurrence.

I was diagnosed and treated with stage 2 T3 rectal cancer and was wondering what are the chances/percentage of recurrence of the cancer either in the rectum or somewhere else like liver, lungs etc.
