  it's all about risk reward, do you want to take the risk or do you want to kick the beast as hard as you can. most if not all the long term side effects are going to be from radiation so those are going to be there anyway. sure the treatments will be worse for many months, but if your like me a long term survivor those durations are nothing compared to getting the survivorship you deserve. for me it was get the most ...

  No suppose you are a long term survivor. You have me beat by 3 years, but a survivor is a survivor and does not matter how long.  I had SCC on Left neck, five golf ball sized nodes wrapped around caroid. I did 38 radiation treatments and 3 week long chemo treatment 24/7 at the same time as radiation with two weeks between treatments. Then radical disection.  I had no peg tube, it was not option. Lost one ...
