I am male, living in the Toronto area in Canada. For the first 55 years, was very healthy, rarely even got a cold, and no flu for about 20 years.
Then in late 2010, felt ill in the evening, passed bloody urine the next morning. A series of tests eliminated most things until they found Advanced Kidney Cancer. Surgery deemed too risky due to the tumour invasion into my heart. Nine months of chemo shrunk the tumour to the point where surgery was done to remove my left kidney, spleen, perform a liver resection, and a number of lymph nodes. All pathology showed kidney cancer, except 2 lymph nodes which came back as Hodgkins Lymphoma (Nodular Lymphocyte Predominant). On 6 months of chemo, starting in October 2012.
