Is anyone else experiencing muscle aches? The ache is similar to after a new workout, and/or muscle cramps. Any ideas on avoiding the problem or lessening the effects would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, yes, but no help available yet. I too am having fluid build up in the abdomen after a 2nd round of chemo, and am going to the Oncologist on Wednesday, Oct 31. I have had a similar problem after surgery for kidney cancer and it was caused by low Albumin levels in the liver. These resolved themselves of time as my liver recovered from the resection required during surgery.

I just got the pathology back from major surgery to remove 1 kidney, my spleen, resect my liver, and remove suspect lymph nodes. Most came back as being Renal Cancer, but as a surprize the Lymph Nodes came back with Hodkins Lymphoma. Has anyone had to deal with this or have they heard about anyone who has dealt with this?

        About kenmacoak

        Patient
Kidney Cancer, Renal Cell Cancer, Hodgkins Disease
        Side Effects, Surgery

I am male, living in the Toronto area in Canada. For the first 55 years, was very healthy, rarely even got a cold, and no flu for about 20 years.

Then in late 2010, felt ill in the evening, passed bloody urine the next morning. A series of tests eliminated most things until they found Advanced Kidney Cancer. Surgery deemed too risky due to the tumour invasion into my heart. Nine months of chemo shrunk the tumour to the point where surgery was done to remove my left kidney, spleen, perform a liver resection, and a number of lymph nodes. All pathology showed kidney cancer, except 2 lymph nodes which came back as Hodgkins Lymphoma (Nodular Lymphocyte Predominant). On 6 months of chemo, starting in October 2012.
