My husband had whipple at Johns Hopkins Aug 09. Surgeon was Dr Kenzo Herose. Since that time he has seen Dr Dung Le. She is an excellent oncologist. We go to Hopkins every 3 months for scans and i can e-mail her and she will answer personally. If you choose a hospital that is not close to home be sure you have an oncologist that will work with the doctor at Hopkins. or what ever hospital you choose  She has alwa...

My husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer august 2009. We researched and found that Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Md is the top pancreatic cancer center in the world. In Sept 2009 he had 8 hour whipple surgery with removal of head of pancreas, bile duct and part of small intestine which was rerouted. He could not tolerate Gemzar so was placed on 5-fu . Went back to Baltimore for 28 radiation treatments and xeloda. We return to Baltimore every 4 or 4 months and so far things look good. He had cancer in 3 lymph nodes but had not spread around the area of the cancer and liver was clear. He has an upbeat positive attitude, lots of faith which i think helps a lot. Would reccomend Johns Hopkins highly.
