  Sorry to add - his blood test this week shows the liver is not making enough protein - but the other 2 liver tests were fine. The Dr thinks the heart is the main cause of the fluid build up.

  Hi everyone,   My dad has oesophageal cancer with lymph & liver mets. He is experiencing fluid in his feet & gets very breathless when he moves.   What other chemo besides Cisplatin were you on? My dad has had no luck with chemo, he had Cisplatin & Xeloda but the cancer just grew & spread to the liver. He also has had radiotherapy with no luck. Clutching at straws now :( if only we could find a drug this thing wasn't resistent to.

  Hi, Not a great deal of experience but my dad has been diagnosed exactly the same. He has been battling cancer of the esophagus (adenocarcinoma) at stomach junction since Jan this year, last month we were told he now has new tumours in the liver after both chemo and radiotherapy have failed to do much good.   Hi, I sympathise I am in similar situations with my dad and am totally heartbroken. It is good that there was a response from chemo, it did nothing for my dad. I can say that we regret having radiotherapy, it robbed my dad of quality of life, and in actual fact has done nothing to the tumour at all.
