  The hospital discharged him on Thursday and sent him to a really nice facility (this time) in Thousand Oaks.  I had to go to the grocery store twice to accomodate his special requests for fruit yesterday.  In the morning it was melons and in the afternoon the cravings switched to peaches, nectarines & grapes.  I had to force feed him 5 bites of his actual lunch but he claimed that he actually felt ...

  I will ask his youngest daughter to ask if he is being given something to control the acid - I would have thought that would have been a given but should know by now not to assume anything. I will be visiting this evening and will ask his nurse as well. In regards to the testing they did quite a few to determine what was causing the bleeding and then endoscope the other day.

  Just a quick update.  He is now being given something for the nausea and ate a small breakfast and just finished part of a fruit plate for lunch.  The fruit plate is significant since that is all he has talked about (food wise) since before the surgery.  Progress!

  I am so sorry for your loss and thank you for your reply especially during this very difficult time for you. All information is helpful in one way or another and I think that I am somewhat prepared for the fact that most of it I won't want to hear.

  My ex husband and best friend was diagnosed in June with Pancreatic Cancer.  On September 5th we were so relieved when they were able to perform the whipple and that the Dr was quite happy with what was a more difficult than the already dificult whipple procedure.  As anyone that has any experience with this dreadful disease knows that relief doesn't last long.  On his 69th birthday ...
