I am a 31 yoa nurse and daughter. My dad was diagnosed with stage IV Pancreatic Cancer in April 2012. We were diagnosed locally and then went to a university hospital and anticipated the Whipple procedure. However, they then found the metastasis to the liver and placed dad on chemo regimens. His tumor markers dropped markedly and I just knew we had this thing beat. He had a rare lung infection to the Gemzar and so it was taken away and 5FU w/Oxaliplatin was started. A colon reaction ensued, and that too, was stopped. We moved on to Abraxanae and now Abraxane w/Cisplatin which doesn't work. On 3/7/2013 we received news the cancer had spread to the lungs. Its disappointing...depressing....and it feels hopeless. However - we are fighters and we will continue to fight this fight and do whatever we can to bring awareness, and one day, a cure to PC!
