I have no stomach as well and work with a great group at Can't Stomach Cancer... I highly recommend that you speak to someone there. My cancer had hit my liver so in December of 2009, I had a total gastrectomy, my gallbladder removed and part of my liver. I dont avoid sugar or dairy products... everything in moderation. I eat like a pig  LOL.... I eat pizza, ice cream, I love cottage cheese and yogurt. Too...

Well, LettJack, I can tell you that I had stage IV stomach cancer. I was diagnosed in 2009 and was given 6-9 months to live. That was almost 3 years ago and I just had another clean CAT scan. This disease is beatable :)

Carole, I am so sorry to hear that it has returned. It is heartbreaking. What are they going to do? Chemo and radiation again? Is she strong enough to have the entire stomach removed this time? Try the Ensure and Boost. One of them gave me intense diarrhea but I forget which one it was. It is worth the try cuz she needs the nutrition right now. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Mel

I ended up at the Cancer Institute of NJ... Sloan Kettering only gave me 6-9 months to live and that was 3 years ago... At the CI, they believe that everyone is curable and that fit my attitude... Sorry to hear that MD Anderson was not a good choice for you, Atlanta. I hear that Dr Ajani is wonderful and is on the cutting edge for stomach cancer.   Mel

Hi! I am a 53 yr old female that was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer June 2009. It had spread to my liver as well. After 6 rounds of chemo which consisted of cisplatin, taxotere and 5FU, I was cancer free. In December 2009, I had a gastrectomy, part of my liver, gall bladder and nodes removed.
I just passed my 4th year of being cancer free. I have a 25 yr old son and have been married for 28 yrs. My husband has been my strength. He has been so supportive.
I have lost 65lbs. At my last office visit I had gained 9 lbs!! I eat a large variety of foods and without a stomach, one would think that isnt possible. But thru trial and error, I have found what works for me.
I have learned not to sweat the small stuff and look at everyday as a gift. Being sick has taught me so much. It is a shame that it took something so severe to make me realize what is important to me.
I am always here to answer any questions anyone might have. Experience can be the best teacher.
