Helen, Something is wrong. Luis just can not get out of bed, he can not stop sleeping, his throat is sore all the time. He thought he had a cold but he has taken three rounds of antibiotics and nothing has changed. He has the chest pain back agian. He is worried. He had a chest CT a few weeks back when we took him to the ER, nothing showed. I am growing very concerned that that cancer is elsewhere. It can spread to ...

I'm really sorry to hear about your father. I agree with Helen about taking him to the hospital and asking for aid. If you use one of the nonprofit hositals, such as those run by the Adventists, you will likely received care, as opposed to a for-profit hospital run by a large corporation. How do you know it's cancer ? How do you know the mass is there? How old is your father? If it is cancer, and he can get proper te...

My husband has an 8cm invasive mass removed Nov. 17. The cancer is called thymic carcinoma. It had grown into his lungs, bumped against his heart and invaded some vessels and nerves. There was no node involvement. But, he had three wedge resections on his left lung, the vagus nerve was cut (he can't really talk well anymore), and the phrenic nerve was severed to remove the tumor's tentacles. We have an appontment wi...

Well, there was nothing in his history that we were hiding. We had zero idea. Plus he hasn't been to a doctor in god knows when, maybe 20 years. :) I'd think this will be OK. I don't know how the cancer hospital will handle it when chemo starts. we have a cost sharing 80/20 and up to 15K in total loss plus the 2500 deductible, with all the expenses, we can not pay them much, we'l still be paying last years!

I don't even want to ask. They approved his surgery and scans and the rest. I hope this isn't some loophole they are trying to slide through.

Helen, I have a question for you, not sure if you know. We got Luis his health insurance and it kicked it on Oct. 22. I was just online looking at his plan and I see that it says the following. What does waive 14-day wait (indefinite) mean? We see lots of claims processing, no amouts listed, so I'm just curious. I am so nervous about his health insurance. We had just gotten him, sent him that Monday for a check up s...

Get in the holiday spirit missy! You are blessed, everyday is a blessing. When a working man goes down, they refuse to stay that way, even for their own good. What about getting him a caretaker that will actually monitor his activities? He has no wiggle room to be hurt again. Are you going to see the baby in Jan????????? I'm a little nervous about that pelvic ultrasound. I know why my doc insisted I hang around wai...

Hiya. Ultrasound normal. I did the upper and lower GI, a few things but nothing too major: gastritis, two small polyps removed and I have something called Barrett's esophagus. They did a biopsy and I'll likely have to get the endoscope for some time, unless they find bad cells on this one, I will just go back to be monitored. This can lead to esophagus cancer so I am glad I know it exists. My great grandfather died o...

Helen, You OK? Not heard from you in a bit. I have a question. My husband has hair to his waist, oh I love that hair, it's probably 3.5 feet long but mixed black/gray. He'd like to donate the hair before Chemo but I know Love of Love sells it, they can not use it for kids wigs because it's grey. Do you know of any organization that makes adult wigs? I'd rather it be used for that than sold. I love his hair, it's spe...

Awww, shucks, I'm glad I made you smile. I can not believe he did not know he was hurt that badly? How did that happen? What a scare for everyone, and he is so lucky that he had that outcome: brain bleeding? Horrific. You know that's the thing about head injuries, you don't always know what's wrong and that it's serious. I so glad he's coming out of this. My hubby has to do an abdominal MRI on Monday, they saw...
