http://www.cancertutor.com/ http://www.gethealthyagain.com/ Temodar and radiation is usually the first treatment, CPT-11 and Avastin is second. Which one is better depends on the individual. I have been through both. The second had a little side effects I had to deal with but that's because IV drugs are harder on the system than the oral Temodar is on most people. Fabiana, GBM's are aggressive and bad. My first sur...

I'm sorry Tracee, it's terrible. Cancer doesn't discriminate. Here's a couple of links I can share with you: http://www.gethealthyagain.com/ http://www.cancertutor.com/ Brainstem Glioma's are the worst. I have a GBM IV that started on the right side, 2 surgeries for removal since 03/2012. My latest 12/7/2012 shows no recurrance in original location but 4 new suspicious spots requiring me to get a biopsy on 01/07. ...

Hey Emma, First off, sad to hear about your illness. You are far too young but unfortunately, cancer doesn't discriminate. I mostly lost my hair on right side of head where tumor was but it got thin all over. It took around 3-4 weeks beofre it started happening. Hair has grown back now (my radiation treatments ended in June 2012). Being a guy, I shaved my head anyway in the beginning. The hari on right side of ...

I've gone through radiation with Temodar, Temodar with 3x's the dose after radiation. CPT-11 chemo with Avastin after that and this seems to be the typical regimen these days. My tumor voyage began March 31, 2012. I have had 2 surgeries, initial and 1 recurance in same spot. My last MRI was 12/7/2012 and the original location is stabalized with no re-growth. That's great except my MRI scans showed 4 new spots in diff...

It's good to stick with the treatments that are working for you. Everyone is different including the cancer. Make sure you and your family are your health advocates. A lot of times the doctors simply follow the treatment plans they are most familiar with and new options pop up all of the time. Also, stay on top of all of the natural elements out there as far as daily nutrition. I really believe the breakdown in the b...

siblingof, Thanks for the reply. My oncologist took me off the Avastin since the recurrance showed 3 additional tumors plus recurrance in the original extract site. I've already had 2 surgeries to remove tumor growth. All of this is in 9 months time. Its all in God's hands now.

Does anyone have any experience with treatment options for recurring GBM after going through initial TMZ, radiation treatment followed by the combination of Avastin/Irinitecan (CPT-11)? All I know about are posible clinical trials. I was first diagnosed in March 2012, 100% removal, recurrance in initial extraction site, and 2nd surgery Sept 2012. After 4 treatments with Avastin/CPT-11, MRI scan, 12/3/2012. Recurrance...

absolutely! I don't judge. It is important in this battle to have peace of mind, nutrition and exercise. How you or anyone else goes about it is entorely up to you.

In addition to medical science, I am doing homeopathic medicine as well. Things such as anti-inflamatory, balancing PH and oxygenating blood cells to name a few. I am also eating as healthy as you possibly can following the GOMBS method, greens, onions, mushrooms, berries and seeds. Most importantly, I believe one needs to get right with God. God is the ultimate physician/healer and anything is possible. I hope peopl...
