bkw, I'm so sorry that you are going through a hard time.  Yesterday, July 30th, was the 1-year anniversary of my father's passing.  (My mother died 10 years ago, also.) I know what you're going through.  However, when I miss Dad, I ask him to send me a sign that he's still here with us.  It may not be a HUGE sign, but I get signs all the time.  I'm a firm believer that our loved ones never...

I am so, so sorry to hear this!  Rick was one of my first "friends" on CC when Dad was diagnosed last year.  He was a great man with an even greater spirit, and he will surely be missed by so, so many! DeAnne

Jenna, I'm so sorry about your dad....My dad passed from this horrible disease, also, on July 30, 2011 - not quite a year yet.  We are going through a tough time right now because 3/30/11 was his diagnosis date, so we are coming up on one year since diagnosis.  He lasted 4 months, for which we are thankful.  He was relatively OK until July, and then he went downhill.  He couldn't eat or drink the...

Hello, Wendy!  I'm happy to hear from you!  I've been wondering and praying for you!  It's good to hear your dad is still with us.  As you know, my dad died after only 4 short months after diagnosis.  I just think about where we were at this time last year - Dad had the extreme itching, and his doctor kept prescribing ointments, etc., until he became jaundiced 3/30/11.  That day was the ...

Kazel, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your special friend.  I lost my dad in July of last year to cancer, and my mom 10 years ago to cancer.  It's such an awful disease!  I know how you're feeling... Thoughts and prayers to you. DeAnne

My 77-year YOUNG father was diagnosed with pc 3/30/11. His bilirubin level was extremely high, and we are waiting for the levels to go down before any kind of treatment can be done. He probably has had this since January, 2011.

Update: My father passed away peacefully on 7/30/11 at 6:02 AM. Rest in Peace, Dad. We love you!
