  Hi Jtomwag, You have a great attitude!  My husband was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer in March 2011.  He was told he was inoperable.  He has done quite a bit of tough chemo and 2 surgeries prior to having a successful surgery on Feb 28th 2012 to remove the tumor.  He turned 60 while in the hospital recovering.  What a great birthday present! We kept him healthy by going ...

  Dave, that is great news!  My husband, Dave, also went to Louisville and Dr. Martin did a partial panc with nanoknife on February 29th.  It is a tough surgery but they will take really good care of you at the hospital.  Make sure your caregivers get good instructions from Dr. Martin on your follow-up care when you get back home especially on balancing getting off of the feeding tube and reint...

  We live in TX and there are no surgeons doing IRE here for pancreatic cancer.  After 19 rounds of chemo and a failed surgery, we went to Louisville in February and Dr. Martin was able to get his tumor out with the help of using IRE around some veins/arteries and also did some vein reconstruction.  I agree, Dr. Martin, is your mom's best bet.  It is worth at least sending her treatment records &...

  I don't know about Nanoknife at Shand's Hospital but I do know there is is a surgical oncologist at Univ of Louisville, Dr. Robert Martin, that is doing quite a bit of outside the box, forward thinking surgery.  It wouldn't hurt to call his office and get your mothers records, scans, etc. to him to evaluate.  It is a tough surgery but for now my husband is tumor free and right now cancer free.

  Dear Bestfriendmom, My heart goes out to you and your family.  Why can't she have more chemo?  Just as an FYI, my husband had a failed surgery in Aug 2011 and contracted C-Dif  and then had a successful surgery after more chemo and much prayer in March 2012 and he did not get C-Dif.  I gave him and continue to give him extra Probiotics.  It puts good bacteria into the intestinal tract and ke...

  My husband had low blood count and platelets and after lots of research found Organic Papaya Leaf capsules high potency 600mg and papaya tea bags.  It really brought his counts up...I was amazed.  The supplier is Herbal Papaya and they are located in TX.
