My 43 year old wife was diagnosed with Stage IV stomach cancer in March, 2007. We started on chemo in April of 07 and after 6 rounds of ECF she was in remission. The orginal tumors were: stomach at the GI junction 3-6cm and in her liver 2-3cm. Even though it was stage IV we think we caught if very early. Her symptoms were pain and discomfort right at the GI junction after eating 3 spicy meals in a row. This was not normal for her so we dismissed the diagnosis of reflux and demanded an endoscopy. She has been on chemo ever since and continues on it today (Oct 09). Surgery was originally presented as an option but since she has been in remission, there is no need. We thank everyone involved and those on this site that gave encouragement and support in our adventure. Pray and always get second, third, and/or fourth opinions. STEVE (live in CT)
