My husbands did not have METs but was going a year timeframe, he had the same treatment you dad was giving and is currently in 100% remission... we thought it was our last christmas together so we went on a cruise, he got prepared for death, and no he is not dying. thank god right.. my point is you just never really know, nor do the doctors, they can give stats from the general population with the similar cancer, bu...

They say now the tumor is gone and no cancer showed on the pet scan so there is hope I made my husband milkshakes and ensure drinks when he was not able to eat. Everyone is different, My husband was not sick from chemo but from the tumor being in the way and food could not go down, when the tumor shrank he could eat anyt...

seems we have too much bad news in common... I totally understand about the lung test. I want to avoid them myself, but now that I am not using "real" smokes, I am happy to learn no changes.. I may stop doing them if the next test also shows no change. I know with 100% certainty that I will never smoke cigarettes again

try your best to only use electronic, if you buy the good ones with good juice, you will not miss what I now call analog. (normal cigarettes). I have emphysema. each year I get a lung function test, each year it was getting worse and worse, until I quit analogs, now it stays the same not getting worse, and I use digital/electronic all the time. try www.altsmoke.com I have a silver bullet.. they last all day on...

I certainly do, and can not count how many times, I have said that to my husband. How do the elderly manage when we are having such a difficult time in our early 50's. I am afraid to think. I also think their generation believes everything the doctors say as golden. That their best interest is always considered first, and not the business asspect of health care. it is sad really. A few years back I was on a TV...

also if you are still smoking, try electronic cigarettes, I was also a long time smoker, tried to quit several ways nothing worked, even my mother dying of lung cancer. But now I am happy to report I have not smoked a cigarette for two years, I still enjoy electronic but, it is much better than those analog sticks I used to smoke

I am so sorry you are going through this. my opinion is learn all you can, and make sure you manage your own healthcare. Doctors are not afforded the time, and are rewarded for not doing so many tests. Yea a biopsy is the cheapest way to determine if it is cancer, maybe try to suggest a CT scan or PET scan instead of cutting away part of you. Be educated and in control. is my best advice. Sadly Doctors hands are...
