    Six months on i can safely say it does get better, had my PEG tube taken out in November and am able to eat a fairly normal diet. Choc hob nobs dunked in tea are my favourite! Went back to work after Christmas and apart from initial tiredness it is going well. So for all those sufferers out there hang in there. i know exactly what the saying dig deep means now. Monthly check ups going well and i try hard not to worry...

      I had my first proper check yesterday after stage 4 BOT cancer and my consultant can't see the tumour anymore. I know its early days but after months of pain and worry the signs are good. I am now two months post radiotherapy and justy beginning to feel myself again.  I found the first six weeks after treatment very hard with the constant mucus, soreness in mouth and generally feeling pretty rough extremely hard...

        I am just over three weeks post radiotherapy to the back of my tongue and neck. The side effects have been dreadful this weekend, two mouth sores have developed just on the gum of my bottom teeth and I have gone to being able to swallow to complete agony when I try, I so want to move forward and keep telling myself the next day will be better but that hasnt happened yet.           I have just finished a six week course of radiotherapy to my tongue and both sides of my neck. To say it is gruelling is a massive understatement as Im sure many of you know. My skin held up really well until the final week when it broke down on my left side. Obviously the mouth problems are enough to cope with but my skin is so sore and tight.             Hi, Im new here and have got cancer on the base of my tongue. I had a neck dissection to remove a cancerous lymph node at the end of May.
