Hi Linda My Dad just completed 6 weeks of Chemo(Xeloda) and radiation for esophageal cancer Stage 3. He did very well on the Xeloda. Had few side effects. The biggest issue was near the end of his treatment he had to crush the pills because he had trouble swollowing them due to the radiation. We are waiting for the PET scan which is scheduled and hoping and praying for great results ...

I am so sorry about your father. I was able to take family leave and I am so happy I had the time. Please look into it. You mentioned your Dad is in Hospice, they often will look for sgns in patients and be able to determine how much time although everyone is so different. Hi I wish I had some advice for your husbands situation but I did want to tell you I was treated by Dr. Duh at UCSF. He is an excellenct surgeon. In my case, I went in with a nodule with negative biopsies but I constantly felt like I was chocking. My surgery was set for 2 hours.
