My first six rounds of chemo were carboplatin/taxotere and I experienced the neuropathy beginning around the third round.  I take the B6 & B12 along with a prescription med called Gabapentin (Neurontin).  The does of Gabapentin depends on how severe the neuropathy is.  I am currently on my 4th sets of chemo and the numbness is not so bad, but still there - so my dr keeps me on a low dose. ...

I too have been faced with this dilemma.  I have been undergoing treatments since Dec. 2009 for Ovarian Cancer and twice already have been hit with shortages.  The first of Taxol wasn't so bad, but just recently I was at the half-way mark of six rounds of Gemzar & Carbo when there was a Gemzar shortage.  When I was placed on the Gemzar regimen, the Dr. had actually wanted to put me on Doxil/Carbo, ...

No matter what stage your mother is, it's terrifying to hear the word Cancer. It's all about faith and attitude!  I was diagnosed with stage 3C at the end of 2009 and have gone thru six initial treatments of taxotore/carbo followed by 12 rounds of taxol/carbo and then in 2012 on my 55th birthday found out the big C was back.  I started another six rounds of Gemzar/Carbo in February, but after finishing...

I'm currently mid-way of 12 maintenance Taxol treatments for Stage 3C Ovarian Cancer.  I received a call regarding my annual mammogram.  My question to the caller was "why do I need a mammogram - isn't this chemo that I have gone thru and are going thru not going to take care of anything in my breast."  She said I still need the mammo.  I'm kind of cautious due to the fact...
