Husband is 3 & 1/2 years out of sugery Had the chemo,Rad,and then Ivor Lewis surgery at Brigham & Womens Hosp. Boston. He is still clean.(no ca) Don't mess around with a hospital that doesn't deal with this cancer much. Go for the Ivor Lewis Surgery just minimally invasive. Not all Hosps. do it. Recovery took about 6 months to a year. Life has been wonderful. Thank God for our healing.

Husband had the same coughing issue after surgery for a few months. Dr recommended a cough suppresant called "pearls" not the real name but perhaps the dr would know what this is.

Husband had Ivor lewis surgery 3 years ago just had colonscopy.Took same prep as mentioned before fasting and pills followed by cleansing drink. Did well. I think with their history it is best to rule out more ca with colonoscopy than have an issue later, and it be too late. Hope it works out

Wow must be scarry. You have to have faith in your Dr. Sometimes info on the net is generalized or inaccurate. You might mention your thoughts and concerns to your Dr,.They won't know if or waht kind of cancer it is until they remove it and send off for biopsy. I personally would want it gone. You can live with just one kidney if necessary. Friend just went through the same thing last spring. It was cancerous. But it ...

And you said " I did see a doctor about it, but very, very few have a clue about our problems." I have to comment on that statement. The surgeons are brilliant but don't seem to have a clue about how your sysytem works after they have reconstructed it. This site is the best you are going to do for advice and what works most of the time. Keep a journal of what you eat and the after effects. It has helped my husba...
