Has anyone had any success with the VA on claims dealing with GBM and agent orange? My husband died about a year ago and I promised I would keep on fighting for him.  We started fighting back in oct 2011 and so far have not gotten anywhere.   Thanks for any assistance on this.  He had headaches from the time he came back from Viet Nam.  He went to the VA and they told him it was all in his he...

Hi, I lost my husband to gbm1V after 15 months going through surgery, kemo and radiation. It went good for awhile until the tumor returned.  Then we started the avastin that was okay but then it was suggested to try more radiation a more intense treatment.  It was downhill from there.  I will not advise anyone to do that.  You don't know until you try it. He began losing his sight and got very wea...

hi, My husband was diagnosed with gbm over a year ago. He is a marine that served in Viet Nam during the agent orange. He came back from there back then when a granade went off on him and was sent back to the US and was granted 50% disability then.  Since all this has come about we began fighting again with the VA.  He has always had bad headaches but just kept on taking bc's so that he could continue work...

Has anyone else known of the tumor traveling to another area?  When my husband was first diagnosed with this they checked to see if it started anywhere before the surgery on the brain and it was determined that was the only place.  It was no where else.

Hi Angie: My husband is stage 4 glioblastoma on the right temporal. He was diaganosed a year ago. We have done the surgery, radiation and the temodar. When the tumor came back we are now on the avastin.  We have recently gone to Duke cancer center in Durham NC and done a form of radiation called stereotactic radiosurgery. He did that for 5 days straight.  Now the dr says since the avastin is showing signs o...

Hi After the GBM tumor came back once he had had the surgery, radiation and being on the temodars , they had suggested another surgery or the avastin.  My husband said immediately no more surgery but that he was willing to try the avastin.  He felt like if the tumor wasn't gotten the first time than that was not an option to try again. His tumor was on the right temporal.  He has had 7 treatments ...

My husband served in Viet Nam during the Agent Orange and he was diagnosed with GBM stage 4 a year ago. We have submitted a claim to VA but they say that this has not been proven yet.  The VA representative said to submit the claim because they are slowly saying these different cancers are related and then the VA will have to back pay once it has been proven.  So worth a try.

My husband has done 7 treatments Of Avastin only. He just did also stereotactic radiosurgery which is radiation a week ago which consisted of 5 consecutive days.  We go back to the dr this week. It was suggested we add cpt-11 with the avastin when we do that every 2 wks.  Guess we will see what his dr says about that.  From what I have read on this website from different ones I do not feel good about a...

I just got through reading your message about your husband.  I am assuming that this is a brain tumor.  My husband was diagnosed with GBM a year ago stage IV. He has had surgery,it was on the right temporal side.  He has had the radiation and the temodar.  Then the tumor came back and they stopped the temodar and went to the avastin.  We recently went to Duke cancer center and did 5 days of r...
