Hi Mario,     I just finished 5 FU , with Oxyloplatin(sic) and the results were mixed. The tumors remain gone but I have two lymph nodes still showing activity. One was reduced in activity and the other had a slight increase in activity. At this point, I've not had any nasty side effects, though I was sensitive to cold and a bit tired for a few days, thereafter. I'm still running and hi...

Hi Felix,     I was diagnosed Stage 4 in September 2011. I, too am 48 and a Marine veteran.  I'm just finishing my 8th round of chemo and was told mine was inoperable and given less than a year to live. The Gastroenterologist suggested I go to Las Vegas and live it up like a rock start. Yes, he really said that;  what an ass. My reaction was swift and deadl...

Hi Margaret,     I was given 5 FU , Levoleucovorin, Docetaxel,  along with Cisplatin. The chemo regimen is the same that Sloan-Kettering would have prescribed. I hope your Dad's results turn out as good as mine. If you can, look up Psalm 91. It got me through a lot of this.      Paul

Hi Everyone,     Well,  the results from my second  PET scan are in and the mets to the liver and esophagus are gone!  There is still activity in two lymph nodes and I'm starting another two rounds of chemo, which I pray, will put me in the N.E.D. column. I've had 6 chemo treatments, (no need for radiation) and tolerated them well- as if I have a choice. ...

Hi Everyone,    I've some great news. My tumors, after three chemo treatments, have been reduced 50%!  I knew I was responding well to the treatments and am so excited. I was so nervous going into my meeting this morning that my pulse rate was 80 per/min. I  had to practically shout at the Oncologist to hurry him  up with the perfunctory stock  questions of,  " how are ...

Hi Maria,   My wife, Jessica, posted a solution for mouth sores and I hope it proves useful for Joe and  those suffering from them. She's a wonderful physician and I'm blessed to have her as my wife.  Thankfully, I've not had anything but minimal side affects after three chemo treatments( some hair loss and feeling a bit tired the day after Cisplatin) and I start the fourth round tomorr...

Hello everyone, My name is Jessica I'm using my husband account, Paul, who was diagnosed with stage IV adenocarcinoma of the esophagus to the liver.  I couldn't help but notice the topic of mouth sores.  I'm physician in a large teaching hospital.  When I was an intern I often had to treat patient's undergoing chemotherapy.  I found the following concoction to be effective in treating m...

Hi Mario,    That's good and bad, of course. The Cisplatin makes me tired the day after but I've not had any serious side effects, other than thinning hair. I travel overseas,  next week on business, then get a CT scan on Monday the 1st, prior to my fourth chemo session. I'm hoping and praying this thing is either gone or reduced to a point that I can convert my Oncologist to Christianity for what's h...

Congratulations and I wish you another 75 years of health and success.

                        God Bless you, too!
