Ellen, I hope and pray The Avastin works for you as well as it has worked for me.  It has shrunk mine from a baseball down to a grape.  Glad you are getting a break from the seizures.  Keep up the positive attitude, its great to see.  Enjoy the 4th josh

If my math and my memory still work, you completed your rad and chemo round around the end may.  There are cases that comeback that quick but not usually.  I got 6 months before regrowth.  If there is swelling and inflamation more than likely it is just edema, which is  treaded with dex.  How many mg a day do they have you on?  Th'se first post surgery/rehab MRI is usally just used as a ...

July 13th will be my one year since surgery.  They were able to get 85% of the tumor.  I had full regrowth in January.  I was put on avastin and a 21/28 day cycle 140 mg of temador.  It was a baseball size tumor, it is now smaller than a grape.  I feel great, I am fully active.  I work out 3-4 days a week for at least 2 hrs.  I mnt bike and walk the other days of the week.  My ...

Avastin has been great for me for the last 6 months.  The origional remaining tumor from surgery  and the baseball size regrowth are no longer showing on the MRI.  The one grape size spot still on the MRI, they feel it is either calcium, dead tissue,or dried up blood.  There is a hospital a couple hrs away from me that has some MRI machine that will tell us exactly what it is.  So I will have...

I have two young children.  11 year old daughter and 8 year old son.  OUr cancer center has a program called "Kids Connection"  It helps kids understand what mom or dad going through.  They explain it on the kids level so they actually learn alot.  Both of my kids were invited back this year to help teach one night.  Having GBM I know my final outcome, but with my kids they know I have c...

Hi Marie, sorry about your family member.  I had full regrowth of my tumor 6 months after surgery.  GBM is a nasty one.  No one will tell you otherwise and that we all know what the final out come will be.  the chemo pill temador will and should be continued when your family member starts Avastin ( I believe that is what you ment by IV Chemo)  It is usually given after regrowth.  It...

Hi Judy, UW medical is a good place for treatment.  I am on the other side of the state over in Richland.  I was DX july last year with Brain Tumor, had surgery 85% resection and was told ten days later it was GBM.  All was stable until Jan's MRI which showed full regrowth (inop) I have been on avastin and 140 mg of temodar (21/28 cycle) since.  Mine has now gone from baseball size to smalle...
