How do lifestyle factors and exposure to environmental substances affect our cancer risk?
Gravy is my husbands new best friend!
I feel all sorts of emotions reading this! My husband finished treatment in May and had a follow up PET scan in June and It was clear!! It still makes me a bit nervous, but now it seems like, wow, he did it! He had his tube out two weeks ago and he is doing great! His salvia is getting better all the time and he is finally tasting things well. He does drink ensure everyday, just "in case". I think ...
Thanks Jeff! We go back in mid September. As of right now all they said to do is swish with soda/salt and use the Stoma Cocktail. In the mean time lots of ensure and gravy :) p.s. "ratwoman" has to do with my last name, not that I love rats :) My husband is ratman!
No, they look like white flat canker sores. Do they debred them? He is getting really discouraged
He has been treated for Tonsil Cancer. He has done a lot better than I thought he would. The hardest part was when he finally could not eat without pain. That is when he had the feeding tube placed. He did get through it. And today he is able to eat actually pretty good except for that stupid sore. Another thing that helped, especially in the beginning, was Mu-Gard. It is like a liquid bandaid.&nb...
Hi there, Does anyone had tongue sores after treatment? My husband is out about 4 months now. He is trying to get off that feeding tube. However, he has some sores on the radiation side of his tongue and it is making it painful to eat. Does anyone have suggestions, home therapies? Do the eventually heal? He is getting pretty discouraged. Thanks
Good News!!! He has been riding a bit!! He went on a "evening" ride last week. And, he has been doing quick errands on it. He told me that he has to make sure the windshield is on, otherwise his skin on his neck flaps like flappy arms :)
Hey Pinecone!!! We are in the same boat! My husband is out 7wks and he still does not eat a lot. He is hungey, but when he eats it hurts even the next day, So, he tries a little very day. Oatmeal, mash potatoes and for some strange reason, dill pickles (I wonder if he is really pregnant) It is very frustrating for him because he loves to eat. The formula spilling is only to...
We had a long conversation and he is going to start going back to AA. He told me his is going to go everyday. It has been 2 days, and so far so good. We go back next week and hopefully things will look up. There is also a counselor there that he has seen, so we will get an appointment to see her also. Thanks everyone!!
Hi Mary!! I hope everything turned out well Monday! We are doing the same visit next Thursday- and oh the agony of waiting for that day. We have a stationary bike at home and my husband has been doing a little at a time. He is up to about 5 minutes at a time. He is also doing "poop patrol" in the yard. Which I am very grateful, because I hate poop!! He has been getting his days and nights ...
