      i'm so sorry the nurse felt compelled to tell your husband that she and you had conversed, maybe it was the topic - about him more than the diagnosis??  Just wondering?  I do think you have the right to ask about the diagnosis, you are his mate and caretaker.  The nurses at the chemo area seemed more willing to say more to me than the nurse assisting the dr.- like what to expect, etc..  They see i...

          Trusting in God: I can identify with you, I felt uncomfortable asking questions to the dr. in front of my husband, he did not say I couldn't, but I felt like he was not ready for the info I was asking, but....they have BRAIN cancer and it changes the way they process and think.  They can't think of things to ask, they are the patient in the middle of treatment and don't often have the emotional or physical ener...

            My husband had headaches for several weeks, thinking they were sinus headaches and taking sinus meds, etc.  Finally Went to dr., got sinus prescription, altho dr. really wanted him to go to have an MRI then, he convinced dr. it was sinus and was treated for that.  No improvement by Wed. after Mon. appt., then Thurs., vomited, went to ER, had MRI and was diagnosed by 2 a.m. on  Fri. and sent to our Univ...

              I am the caregiver for Ed, we have been married for 38 yrs. Ed was diagnosed with anaplastic mixed cell glioma in July, 2008, has had surgery, radiation, and treated with Temador for 7 mos. when more cancer growth showed up, soo he began Avastin and Irinotecan in April, 2009-9/09. MRI in NOv. shows further growth, so has started back on Avastin only. It's a journey!! I am an elementary teacher and retired in May, 2009. ED is a civil engineer and retired in 2006, but was working part time until time of surgery. We look forward to more time together!! March, 2010, it was decided to no longer be on chemo and to go on hospice. Did well until May 16, when 2 gran mal seizures put him in the hospital and then the nursing home. He lost the battle on Aug. 13, 2010 and I miss him more than I could have ever known!!!!
