I was on this sight regarding my hubby's cancer and saw this subject was still active. Has been 3 yrs since I had bilateral with no reconstruction. Posted back then about my PMPS. After 6 months and many different drugs,  I was finally able to get some relief with a combo of cymbalta and ultram. Went to see a palliative care Dr. who knew how to treat pain. Took that combo for 18 months and felt better. Was hell ...

My hubby now has C-Diff after so many antibiotics from another mild infection. All this from one treatment of Folfirinox for his Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer.  I do not want to imply that this happens if you take Folfirinox. This treatment has done well for many with PC disease. Why my very healthy(is a runner) husband is having all these problems no one knows. If anyone had dealt with this infection, please con...

Kejnah We are on our second hospitalization with fever-- my dad is pretty fit also. We have found pretty good results with a probiotic (lactobacillus in either granule or pill form)-- it helps keep the good bacteria in and the bad out. Hope this helps!! Will keep you in our prayers.

It is not a staph infection. Is an infection of the GI tract. He is receiving IV antibiotics.

Your wife's oncologist should have put her on digestive enzymes. What type of cancer does she have? My hubby is taking 3 Creon enzymes with meals. Dairy should be eliminated, can replace with almond milk or rice dream. My hubby who has PC does well with smoothies and shakes. I make them with the almond milk or rice dream, scoop of whey protein, 2 tbs plain greek yogurt, 2 tsp of glutamine to help prevent neuropathy, ...

He developed an infection that they believe is in the GI tract. At first they thought it was a staph infection. I almost wish it was. They will have to do another endoscopy to see if there is an absyss somewhere.  Hubby is depressed after being hospitalized for a week after 1st chemo treatment. He just wants to stop everything. Has anyone else had this happen where there loved one wants to give up treatment. I ...

No, his PC is not in the bile duct region. It is in the tail. They still do not know the cause of the sepsis.  Did they allow your hubby to continue chemo?

Has anyone else had this happen and could not continue treatment? After only 1 treatment of Fulfirinox my hubby developed rigors attacks and 103 fever. They are trying to determine the exact type of staph infection. Nightmare ontop of a nightmare.  http://melodyandlarry26.blogspot.com/

Thanks for telling me about the immodium. We have not been given any info. I would rather here about protocols beforehand so that during those tough times that can happen on a Saturday night.  What was your husband's protocol for the immodium? Larry's cancer is also terminal. We are hoping this chemo cocktail will help. Yet it is very hard to prepare yourself to get sick when he currently has no symptoms. ...

My husband was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer on 6/8/12 after taking a fall in April that found a "psuedo cyst" on his pancreas after having a CT scan. No urgency was put on this. Now know, after 2 months had gone by, that anything on the pancreas should be looked at closely. After reading these posts was wondering if anyone was taking any supplements for the neuropathy. Glutamine and ALA have been recomm...
