I have not been on this board in years. Just had the feeling today I needed to check on people with ec. My husband will be 63 the 18th of this month and on November 2008 he was diagnosed with stage 4 ec. The eating or lack of, acid reflux, weight loss, and fatigue all sounds familiar. He went through 8 months of very aggressive chemo wearing a pump 24/7 for 3 weeks rest a week and do it again. He was stronger than I ...

My husband is 60 and has lung cancer, has had 6 rounds of alitma chemo. Pet scan last week showed no change, dr. says continue with treatment until..... He is a candidate for surgery but because of his diabetes he is concerned about the healing process. I think deep down he feels he would never recup from surgery. Just need some feedback. SB

It is hard to understand how this chemo keeps people alive and yet so hard on your body. Glad your dr. is giving you a break. SB

My husband of 40 years has been struggling with cancer for almost 3 years. He bought a 55 Chevy and his prayer was to get to drive it with all grandkids in it. He continues to work on but I think deep down he doesnt want it running. We just have to keep our sense of humor about this awful disease. Isn't life great!!!! After all the fussing we have caused about little stuff now we want to stay here longer. Go figure!!...

My story is much like JackieJo's story. My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 EC in Nov.2009 had spots in his lung and no surgery. Besides the awful side effects of chemo he was very blessed with being able to continue to work and do all his daily activities. The doctor was just amazed at how well he did. This July they found a spot in his right lung has had 4 chemo treatments(alitma) and he is having a hard time, he...

                  About sblythe

My husband of 38 years which will be 59 next thursday, was diagnosed with eso. cancer in nov. 09 he took 8 months of chemo. Last chemo was sept. he has had a ct and a scope every 3 months and all seemed good. He also had some spots in 1 lung and chemo worked on that too. His last ct looks ifee and we go back next week dr. thinks its back but didn't have new disk to compare to last one. We know nothing about recurrance if it is back in the lung. Chemo worked immediately, never had surgery, gained all his weight back and has had 5 good months. The thought of him going through this again scares me and it breaks my heart.Any advise???
