Yup. Exactly the message I got.

RE: vegan diet for cancer

I should add I do avoid animal protein myself, what with Lupus and MM battling for dominion over my body. People really do need to tailor their diets to their own needs.

Two older sons are nutritionists. Worked out how much protein they and their younger sister need and the all-vegan doesn't make sense for them (although only one of them still lives with me). They tend to lean more towards the Paleo Diet, which I too believe is better for humans. Except that we as a species have managed to pollute just about every waterway and veld on the planet with no sign of stopping soon. Hence my delving into vegan land.

RE: MGUS bone pain

by serviette - April 30, 2012

My brilliant oncologist (second visit with him) had the gall to tell me that MM will NOT cause my shinbones. I really wanted to cause HIS shinbone some pain.

I'm firing him too.

If you're lucky enough to be able to get milk, eggs from your own animals or a neighbor, or to be close enough to a co-op where you can purchase farm-fresh and grain-fed animal products, then you're better off than most.

Awesome! I'm so happy to hear it's working for you! I'm taking the plunge myself -- actually dipping into the water one toe at a time. Trying to figure out how to work a vegan diet in with my family's high caloric & protein needs (2 young athelets in the house). It'll work... it'll work...

PROMISE 12

by serviette - April 29, 2012

Watch out for would-be scammer on these boards. I've reported their creepy (and poorly written) message to admin. If you get a message from PROMISE12 don't answer! Likewise if you get a message that sounds overly-sincere and wants to have a 'private message' session. (Our in-boxes are private anyway -- dumba#*es) They're phishing or looking for your $$$.

RE: Multiple Questions...

by serviette - September 24, 2010

Hi Terry --

I've heard about Dr. B. Hoping to hear back about an appointment today. Fortunately, I'm in Seattle. Not too far to travel and no time lost from work and other important activites. The BJP response from my Onc seemed odd to me too. That's part of why I freaked out, started feeling like I needed answers from others. He's always been rather vague... although I also understand that my blood work has never been what they expected.

Sometimes, you just need a little validation and understanding from 'outside' to nudge you in the right direction. The article you led me to was very well done and I appreciate how succinctly everything was explained. I thank you again!

Susan

RE: Multiple Questions...

Hi Kevin --

Thank you for responding. I've never had chemo, just radiation and that ended in April of 2007. I've contacted Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Searching for an oncologist. As well as shopping around for affordable health insurance. I still have the COBRA option, but that's harldy 'affordable'.

I'm reading that MM101 article now.  Thanks for sending me that way.

Health & Peace

S.
