Unfortantely you should be concerned. It doesn't matter if it is in normal range, what is more important is the velocity. Since it has tripled I would seek out a Urologist to explore if something is going on. I had a friend that use to have a reading close to zero like yours and it went to 2. He had a biopsy and they found cancer. It might only be an infection however you need to rule that out.

Tom,   This is a borderline call. The so-called experts would tell you to treat it immediately.   With what I know especially with the nasty side effects incontinece and impotentcy I would do what I call aggressive survellance. Rather than just waiting and doing periodic DRE and PSA tests, I would do diet changes and take supplements and would watch my PSA go down and prove to them you can fight this dise...

Sorry to hear about your cancer. I have a couple of questions because you could be a candidate for active survellance and with diet and supplements to keep the cancer at bay forever. Personally I have been doing this for the last 9 years. What was your Gleason score and what are the percentage of cancer in the three positive core? First suggestion slow down and do your research first. Prostate cancer is one of the ...

Why is it critical to check your vitamin D3 Level. Vitamin D is more of a hormone than a vitamin. If your vitamin D is deficient your "ON" switches of your Killer T cells of your immune systen won't activate. Vitamin D actually turns the on switches of the T Cell.  From my research for a healthy immune system you need 4000 IU of vitamin D a day. In diet you can expect about 1000 IU a day. the rest can be made o...

Yes I had lupron with my radiation. I received a 3 month injection and was suppose to get another however due to the nasty side effects I refused the second injection. I hope you don't get the other nasty side effects such as vertigo, insomnia, massive headaches, constant urination just to name a few. Mine started with the headaches and accelerated after that, each day getting worse.

most likely it is not from the radiation. If you did hormone therapy it could be one of the nasty side effects of Lupron.

Who really knows? I suspect that he had prostate cancer for quite awhile. Prostate cancer is very slow growing and would take years for it to grow to a psa of 21.7. When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer my psa was 23. The doctor thought that it took 12 years to get to that stage, therefore I would tell that doctor he doesn't know what he is talking about.  Tell the GP to practice in the area he was trained ...

Ray,   As you know I am a firm believer of alternative medicine. God knows it saved my life and yours. However sometimes I have found patients needing both, traditional and alternative, one example being if the cancer was brought on by agent orange during the Vietnam war it seems that the alternative isn't quite strong enough however when it is couple with traditional medicine it is very effective. Everything i...
