I had radiation which eventually failed which caused me to treat my advanced prostate cancer with alternative treatment, it has been successful for 9 years. With what I know now I would have gone alternative due to the nasty side effects. If I were you with your low numbers I would do aggressive  active survelliance. Rather than just waiting for your numbers to go up, I would take supplements, change diet and l...

rjcrossley Hi Dan, my old friend. Look like the vitamin BIO C working. As I slept from 10pm to 4am this morning I was getting really sick of waking up at 2am . Also the Myalgia (extreme Muscle pain) much less. But as we all know The only problem with having this much vitamin BIOC is the diarrhoea from it but if it make me get better I can put up with it

I use nature made 5000 IU of D3 a day. If you live in warm climate you may want to check your D level, with a simple blood test, if you get a lot of sunshine a day. Dan

It sounds like he is having external beam radiation not Brachytherapy. It is possible that they are doing both. They do both to insure better results. If he is doing external beam radiaition see if proton radiation is available. It is suppose to do less damage to healthy tissue. hope this helps Dan

Gwen    In itself avodart is really not an adequate treatment for prostate cancer, it does reduce the testosterine however it isn't strong enough to stop the progression of the cancer. Also when you are on Avodart the rule of thumb is to double his psa reading  to get his real number. Besides doing avodart he needed to watch is diet, take supplements and exercise. That is how I kept my cancer at bay ...
