  My husband just completed 38 treatments of X-ray radiation due to a recurrence of Prostate cancer after 10 yrs. the dr.is having him do a different type called "boost"radiation To the prostate bed for 4 days only.Does anyone know what exactly this is?? Thanks.

  I agree wholeheartedly with your thoughts. My husband was diagnosed at 54,had RP 2001.. Clear until 2009, found again rearing it's head. Now in radiation. And HT, I think it's only a cost cutting measure.

  Thank you for our input on SRT. , what is the normal term of this therapy? Do you have to drive long distances to obtain treatment? I ask, because My Husband may be offered this treatment and I would like to know if sitting in a car Increases discomfort. We will be deciding which hospital and doctor to use at this time. Originally, we went to Stanford but we lived closer. Now UCSF is closer. I appreciate any...

  Thank you Gene for your input. We live in California, so my morning is being spent on hospital and doctor research. Our RP was done at Stanford in 2001,however that is over 100 miles from home. Wondering if my husbands future treatments would be best served in SF. Do radiation treatments Cause pain while in a car? Are they just for a short period? So much to consider. I just want him to have the least discomfor...
