My advice is to have your sister go to the best pancreatic center - MD Anderson, Sloan, etc. Also, there is plenty of hope.  Go to Whipple Warriors on Facebook.  Statistics are just a number.  My husband is into his 4th year - just chemo and radiation.  He plays tennis, etc.  and is on no Chemo.  There is hope. Pray and let God do your worrying.  God bless.

Go to the best place possible for pancreatic cancer :  Hopkins, MD Anderson, Sloan in NYC. Whichever is closest to you.  It is worth it. God Bless

You are going to the right place and Dr. Allen is wonderful. If he suggests the whipple there is a Facebook page for Whipple Warriors. Good luck and I will put you on my prayer list, John. Dolores

Please do not be discouraged. My husband was diagnosed July 2011 and has had chemo and radiation.  His heart was affected and he now has a defibulator.  They tried and failed the whipple also. However, today he is playing golf and enjoying life.  His cancer is considered "stable".  We pray everyday and I will pray for you too.  Never give up. If you can, exercise is wonderful.  Yoga is g...

My husband goes to Sloan Kettering and they test tumor markers every 3 months.  They post them online for us to see. Here is a website describing them. http://labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/tumor-markers/tab/glance Our doctor thinks they are significant

Never give up.  My husband was dx. in July 2011 and after chemo, radiation etc. and many complications,  a surgeon tried to do the whipple but the radiation had fused the tumor to the artery and they had to close him up.  .  He is now "stable" with no chemo and CA19 at 9.  He plays tennis and practices yoga.  We credit great doctors' care and also prayers. We have been to Lourdes once, a...

You are fortunate to live near such a good area for PC.  I would recommend Sloan Kettering.  You can call and make an appointment with an oncologist. We like Dr O'Reilly but I think they are all good.  I have also heard good things about the surgeon Dr Chabot from Columbia Presbyterian..Good luck

So sorry about your Dad. Get your Dad to the best cancer facility that you can.  Sloan, MD Anderson, Hopkins, if possible.Good luck and we will pray for you.  Research all you can so you can ask appropriate questions.  Take notes and go with him to all the doctors.  Family support is very important.

I know nothing about Cancer Centers but what about radiation. My husband had that at Slian and has been stable for 1 1/2 years. Good luck Dolores
