  There's no way of knowing for sure unless he consults his doctor...Cancer isn't something to play around with by any means. My MIL was diagnoised with throat cancer about a year ago, and hers started with sore throats, and ear pain, as well as frequently loosing her voice, or having a crackled voice on and off. I'm sure symptoms can change from one person to the next, but the safest idea is consulting the dr.!

  My MIL has been battling throat cancer for almost a year now, she underwent radiation and the dr.is pretty confident that they were able to get it all, BUT they haven't been able to do another throat scope to know for sure since her throat is still so swollen.   About 3 months ago my mother in law,age 50, was diagnoised with stage 2 tumor in her throat(partially on her voicebox). She has been undergoing radiation treatments for almost 2 months now,and I told her I will be there by her side every step of the way,but no matter what we say or try to do to convince her,she won't quit smoking!   My Mother-In-Law was diagnoised with a stage 2 cancerous tumor in her throat (partially on her voice box), about 3 months ago, she has been undergoing radiation treatments for almost 2 months now,but the dr.stopped the treatments for a couple of days now because she has been coughing up blood, and says that it feels as if there is something sharp stuck in her throat,as if it's poking her.
