  Hello. My bro was plagued with diahrrea, neurophaty, hemorroids as side effects. A pet scan told us that tumor was estable but not bettering. Dr shifted to  gemtamicine and the last scan after two months; there was a shrinkage of 50 %.

  my brother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer level 4, tumors in liver and peritoneum. He started with folfurinox for 7 months without good results , liver tumor increased 3 cm, then treatment was shifted to gtx up to now, the last scan gave a 50 percent tumor reduction and tumoral analisys gave 100 (original value was 300), he has and excelent quality of life along with the usual quimo disturbances.   My brother has'nt be lucky with folfirinox therapy after seven (48 hours shot). But as to side effects he complains about neuropathy, lack of taste,chilling, and mild diarrea. His Dr will change to abradax plus gemtabicine, we'll hope the new treatmenrt work out this time.Last scan showed a new 3 cm tumor in the liver.

    rose1726 Sorry to hear that folfirinox did not work for your brother. PC is horrid. How can it reduce the size of liver tumor and yet grow another one? The cancer cells must be able to put up barriers that the chemo cannot penetrate.

  my brother completed 7 cycles with folfirinox, the liver tumor shrunk 3 cm but a new tumor appeared in the liver. The oncologist said us the quimio wasnt working. Now he switch to therapy with gemtabicine and possibly a new drug ABRAXANE no approved in  USA. But we are trying to find out here in Venezuela where is permitted. treatment name is GTX in the States.

  my brother finished 7 treatment (folfirinox). he has neuropathy (hands and feet), food tasteless,also cold water problems and since 5 treatment some sort of ulcers (hemorrhoids) very annoying, the doctor says that surgery will solve the problem. neupogen after treatment with the usual side effects (muscle pain).
