I am 60 yrs old and getting ready to start chemo again, had stem cell transplant 9/11/09 I had breast cancer first 12/16/2004 and then MM diagnosed April 2009. Having breast cancer saved my life. They saw my blood work was odd, the numbers not quite right. This has been very quick and not a very big deal. They let us photograph my stem cell transplant, my daughter and hubby were in the room and everyone was jovial!I hope this is the beginning of my new life! Well lo and behold I become obstructed and undergo an open laparotomy on 8/31/11 and I was found to have a Carcinoid tumor. These are extremely rare but it was a little bigger than a plum and they removed 6" of colon and no chemo needed. But now my lambda light chains are climbing so chemo decisions need to be made. To be continued.......................
