Good Day, I know this is a response months after your post, but it hit home for me.   I am a 52 year old woman, who in January 2011 was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer and had surgery to remove part of my colon.  Then, 5 weeks later, had another surgery to remove part of my right kidney due to another unrelated cancer.  Then just 4 weeks after that, I started a 6 month chemo regimen which I...

I too am surviving colon cancer, stage III and an unrelated kidney cancer at the same time.  I had part of my colon removed then a month later had part of my right kidney removed, then another month later started 6 months of chemotherapy.  2011 was not my greatest year, but what kept me going was once this was all done, I could get back to normal, go on with my life, or so I thought.  However, I had lo...

I was diagnosed with colon cancer, stage III in January 2011.  I underwent a partial colectomy, then 5 weeks later underwent surgery to have part of my right kidney removed due to an unrelated kidney cancer.  4 weeks after that I started 6 months of chemotherapy.  I lost my job after being out of work for six months and had so many post treatment complications, I am still unable to work.  I am now...

I was treated with FOLFOX ( 5 FU and Oxaliplatin) for stage III colon cancer.  I am 9 months post treatment and besides a myriad of symptoms that I am dealing with, I have developed a loud ringing in my ears.  I had a very mild case of Tinnitus before treatment, only noticeable when I was in perfect silence.  However, over the last 2-3 months this ringing in my ears has gotten progressively louder, to ...

Hello, Thank you for your reply, and from so far away, India.  I guess cancer knows no boundaries.  I hope that your husband is doing well.  May I ask what kind of cancer he had, was it colon cancer?   Has he had any follow up scans recently?  How is he feeling overall since the treatments have stopped?  Was he able to work while receiving treatments, if not, has he returned t...

Hi John, I know it has been a long time since you wrote this, but I was wondering how you are doing now?  I am 8 months out from chemo treatments for stage III Colon cancer, and I am still unable to work, walk much, or do much at all.  I lost my job, my ability to work, and now must sell my house because I cannot afford my mortgage and my COBRA, health insurance.  I am wondering if after 4 years since...

I am 8 months post chemo, using 5 FU and Oxaliplatin.  After the thick/heavy chemo effects of my brain wore off, I seemed to be left with a fractured brain.  I used to be a clinical nurse manager of a wound care center.  I opened that center, hired and trained the entire staff, including nurses and physicians.  I worked 50-60 hours a week, ran a woman's program at my church at night, and had a ver...

I am sorry to hear about your problems, but they sound so familiar.  Though I was already experiencing numbness in my hands and feet while receiving the Oxaliplatin.  About 5 weeks after treatment stopped I awoke one morning with numbness pretty much my entire body, from the neck down.  It eventually receded down to my lower legs/feet, lower arms and hands.  I could barely walk at all, though some...
