In celebration of colon cancer awareness month, the Colon Cancer Alliance rang the Nasdaq Cosing Bell on Monday, March 1st.

"We're excited that NASDAQ has recognized March as Colon Cancer Awareness Month in such a public manner," Andrew Spiegel, CEO of the Colon Cancer Alliance, stated in a press release. "The disease is almost entirely preventable through screening, yet only about half of those who should be tested actually get screened."

Passed by the U.S. Senate in 1999, a colon cancer resolution came to life by making March the official Colon Cancer Awareness Month, the goal being to increase the public's awareness about the second leading cause of cancer dealth amoung men and women.
