I am currently taking 4, 000 units of D3 a day.  It one time i was taking 50,000 (prescription) once a week and the 4,000 a day for the rest of the week.  For some reason, my body does not metabolize vitamin at the normal rate.  I did have osteopenia, but after a year of Actonel that problem resolved.  I am also a cancer patient.  I want to thank Cancer Compass for all the useful and interesting information.  I eagerly wait for each new newsletter.

My research indicates that the vitamin D should be from a whole food supplement.

Please report on the benefits of whole food supplementation as opposed to synthetic supplementation.
