My husband just was told that his cancer was T3N3 has anyone else been in this stage an how was your treatment plan, we go today to find all this out and I"m a scared that this will not help and he won't be able to have the surgery they have not told us whether he can or can't. Any help would be helpful. Praying all goes well for him.

Hi, I was stage 4 and told I could not have surgery. I went to a different institution for a second opinion ( one of three second opinions). The doctors had different approaches and I did have surgery two years ago and now the cancer is undetectable. My advice is if they won't operate someone else will. So start getting second opinions ASAP. Good luck with your journey.

Get a second opinion at a major teaching hospital. Ask everyone you come in contact with who is the best surgeon to do an esophagectomy.

Good luck.

I'm so sorry I have not replied it's been tuff going but we have gotten through the 5 weeks of chemoradiation therapy, it's been very hard for him to eat or drink, he has kept a positive mind and we are both glad that part is behind us, just not sure what we have to look forward to now, he had ct scans today and we head to Pittsburgh Sept 5th to see what they have to say,. I'm glad you are still with us and glad you had the suregery, we are praying that he can do the same. Thank you and God bless.
