I am new to the board.  My name is Jennifer.  When my brother was 8 years old he had his kidney removed due to cancer.
While on treatment he needed a blood transfusion.  Back in 1979 they didnt test the blood.  Years later when he was 21 he was diagnosed with Hepatitis C.  That eventually led to Liver cancer.  My brother is now 45.  He needed a Liver Transplant.
I gave him part of my liver in October, 2016.  Surgery was successful.  His began taking Harvoni for his Hep C virus.  Scan came back negative.  However this past May he had a scan and unfortunately the damn cancer came back.  He has 30 lesions in his liver.  We are all devestated.  Its like a nightmare.  He is now being treated with oral chemo.  He has to go for a scan in a month to see if any of the lesions have shrunk.  Please keep our family in your prayers.  If anyone had a similar experience like my brother feel free to contact me.
