Anyone have incidental finding of LGG?

Has anyone had an incidental finding of an LGG for other reasons? I? had a traumatic brain injury and doctors found the lesion. Spectroscopy suggests low grade 2 Astro or oligo. My question is if you found it incidentally did you do a watch and wait approach or go ahead and have surgery? I’m asymptomatic and am scared surgery will cause deficits that I didn’t have before. I’m almost 23. Any advice is appreciated!!

My tumor was also found accidently after suffering a concussion.  I had surgery as it was very accessible and it turned out to be malignant, so glad it was out.  You should consult a surgeon about risks of surgery as it's really all about where its' located.  Some have surgery and are totally fine after.  Low grade tumors are generally very slow growing and many take the wait and watch approach.  As long as your getting MRI's every 3-6 months that is a viable option.  If your tumor is in a sensitive area, surgeons will not just digging in.  Some people's tumor's are inoperble due to location, others only partially resected.  If you are going to get surgery, PLEASE go to top notch neuro-surgeon!  Best of luck,

How large was yours? Mine is around the size of a golf ball in the left frontal lobe. Very front of my head. Doctors say it is in a very accessible location.

Hi, i had an incidental finding of LGG in 2015 and my team is still doing a "wait and watch"... I have nausea and vomitting BUT they claim its not related to my tumor, go figure!

What’s the size and location of yours? I’ve been on watch/wait since 2016.

Mine was 5mm in 2015, now 7mm and its located in the back of my brain {medulla}. How do you feel about the wait and watch? I'm going to John Hopkins and get a 2nd opinion within 2 weeks

Mine is the size of a golf ball in my left frontal lobe towards the top of my head. I have no symptoms and it hasn’t changed in two years on MRIs

My son was incidentally diagnosed in the summer of 2012 and had a sub-total resection in December, 2012.  We were advised to do watch-and-wait but disagreed and chose the surgical route.  Really glad we did as surgery has since become the gold standard treatment where possible.
