Father in law has multiple mylemia and Stage 4 non small cell lung cancer.  Recently metastized to brain and had gamma knife that was successful. Recently found out the nsclc is now back in left lung this is 4th time its came back, but it also has now metastasized to his face he has a very large mass that has continued to grow.  At this point there is no more chemo that can help we are doing 5 sessions of radiation as palliative care for his face just to try to stop from getting bigger.  We are now calling in hospice he has lost 25 in the last 2 months doesnt eat hardly talks very weak.  I have a feeling its also back in his brain as he has fell again which was how we found out he had it before.  Hospice has not came yet as we are doing these radiation sessions first but no one has ever told us how long he may have we have never been given anything.  The mylemia is dormant so its not an issue right now but the lung cancer that is currently active (in October it was very small) is not getting treated and the cancer that metastasized to face has grown very quickly and only treating with radiation to stop growth no chemo.  He has just dealt with so much recently blood clots in lungs now on oxygen and he refuses to quit smoking since he says hes dying anyways.. He will smoke 10 cigarettes in a day but will not eat anything and can barely walk 10 feet without having to sit.  Anyone seen this where it nsclc metastasized to face if so how was the survival rates?? i know there is many factors and so forth but i readd alot on this and never seen it go to someones face like that as a huge growing tumor.. even the radiologist has never seen it
