Hey shellie,

Doing okay...yes, still taking ip6, but at a reduced dosage. Just doing 4 scoops every other day. Gave up on it helping with my PSA. Great to hear that your uncle is doing okay. I believe your uncle is ver lucky to have you as a caregiver.

I'll be starting Xofigo (radium 223) in the very near future. Will start a new thread here (cancercompass) asking if anyone has experience with it and is willing to share.

Take Care, Monty

hiya  jsut a after thought  why you reducing the ip6 wood it not help with alkaline as well maybe not ,

Hello Shellie,

I decided to reduce the dosage as it did not seem to helping with my PSA and ALP. Both my PSA and ALP were in the normal range (although rising) before I begain taking it. I took 14 scoops daily (7 in the morning and in the afternoon on an empty or nearly empty stomach) for two months...and my PSA and ALP continued to rise.

Take Care, Monty

Hi Calbear Pl. comment as to why IP-6 is not able to keep PSA lower? PSA is the only indicator to show whether or not a product is effective. I too am using ip6, along with milk thistle. My PSA had come down once after Lu 177, now is rising again. I am taking 4+4 scoops M and E, along with tomato juice these days. But PSA is rising. To instil confidence in their efficacy, these alternative therapies should work. Please quell all these doubts. Regards Meetha

Just found your post. I have been away from this site for a while. There are two factors influencing efficacy of IP6: dose dependency and time dependency. Complicating this is the additional factor that IP6 works best with androgen-dependent cells. Dr. Shamsuddin points out in his text that androgen-independent cells are more difficult to normalize or trigger into apoptosis. I would increase the dose to 6 scoops in the AM and 6 in the PM. Mixed in cold water only and shaken thoroughly. The stomach must be completely empty.

I had this problem in early 2016 with rising PSA. It was a consequence of reducing the IP6 dose to save money.

I have added some supplements because of the androgen-independent cell issue. I take European milk thistle with isosylibin A and B. Experiments have shown B to be effective with androgen-independent cells.

I also have added capsaicin/cayenne pepper with naturally sourced lycopene (tomato paste, sauce, soup and juice).

I take large doses prior to all 3 meals of berberine root (natural equivalent of Metformin, the prescription drug), curcumin/turmeric, quercetin, red yeast rice (natural equivalent of Lovastatin on in AM and PM), grape seed extract, and vitamin D3.

I just came across this abstract on research that is pertinent to fight against PCa. I take both of these but was not aware of the apparent synergy. Berberine as I mentioned in my other post is equivalent to Metformin.

Thanks Calbear. I have upped the dose from 4 to 6 scoops twice a day. Let me see if is able to keep PSA from increasing. I am due for PSA test in a month's time. Fingers crossed. Will research about other products you have mentioned. It is difficult to source these products , then slot it in my medicine consumption schedule and finally remember to take it. IP6 alone makes me not eat for 4 hours after lunch; two and half hours before and one and a half after IP6. Besides calcium, iron supplements, and cancer drugs, I take turmeric and Milk thistle. But we are pitted against a BIG enemy. So, can't ever do enough. I try to be upbeat and enthusiastic. Regards. Meetha.

Upping the dose until you see suppression reflected in the PSA is the best strategy. I do presently 8 scoops twice a day, but there is no magic number that works for all patients. Of course, I take many other anti-cancer supplements and that complicates causality. I recently added green tea extract and alpha lipoic acid. BTW, is your milk thistle "European Milk Thistle with Isosylibin A and B"? The latter chemical agents have been confirmed in studies as toxic to prostate cancer cells.

I don't understand your timing around the dosing sessions. I go 2 hours before abstaining from food. I don't eat for one hour after. So my eating has a 3 hour suspension.

Good luck,

Hi Calbear I have upped the dose to 6 scoops twice a day for the last two weeks. I observe same precautions as you do before and after taking it. Yes I do take milk thistle recommended by you. Few herbs like turmeric, wheat grass juice aloe Vera juice, tomato soup, etc are extra. Can't have too many as fasting before and after IP6 eats into time. I am getting PET Scan tom. Will know results in a few days. And PSA in a few weeks. Then I'll be able to know its impact. Will share it here. But my stock of IP6 has almost run out. Replenishment will take a week or two. So the gap might affect results too. Thanks for your support. Regards. Meetha
